Day XVII 3-29-11 Poetry

SOULS

Sould

SOULS
Some one could save us and someone could shake us,
but not before we melt.
And someone is helping and it’s saving us from ourselves.
And is there a connection, between you and I?
Two weightless faceless soulless servants?
And in the darkness we end up broken, and in the light we try to hide,
behind our eyes.
Am I just another faceless soul?
Do I have a choice?
Crack open your bleeding lips,
just let it out and cry.
And faceless no more,
you don’t have a reason to run,
so let your voice scream loud.
And is there a connection for two soulless servants?
Is there a connection that makes us alive.
Make our souls arrive.

Day XVI 3-28-11 Hipstamatic collage

So I worked on the art stuff all day, but ended up writing my photographer bio and creating a collage.

Photos aren't working on blogger currently, so I'm redirecting you to tumblr where the bio and collage is up.

Day XV 3-27-11 Hipstamatic

Total re-blog...... The B-Roll posted about how he created his own " hipstamatic prints in photos shop rather than using his iPhone (blog HERE) and I though I'd try it because I seem to be lacking in iPhones anyway.
I threw a twist on it and just used a slightly rounded vignette (an idea I stole from my sister)  rather than the grunge border the B-roll used.

I think I'll use one of these photos for my bio that I have to write for the art show... by tomorrow!

Day XII 3-24-11 Pancakes

So busy today, worked all day.
Well I made Norwegian pancakes, that's the most creative this I guess, I need to do more, just really busy with work and art show.

http://www.createtv.com/CreateProgram.nsf/vRecipes/Norwegian%20Pancakes

In Scandinavian cuisine pancakes are used both as savory dishes and as desserts. Here the pancakes are served with blueberries or strawberries and makes a lovely dessert.

Serves 2 to 4.

Ingredients:
2/3 cup (1.5dl) all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 large eggs
1½ cups (3.5dl) whole milk
1 tablespoon sugar or honey, plus more for serving
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted, plus butter for cooking

Directions:
Combine the flour and salt in a medium bowl. Add the eggs, milk, and sugar, stirring with a fork until you have a light batter; make sure there are no lumps. Stir in the melted butter. Let rest for 30 minutes.

Heat 2 teaspoons butter over medium heat in a cast-iron or other heavy skillet. Add 1/3 cup of the batter and immediately tilt the skillet so that the batter spreads out evenly. Cook for approximately 3 minutes, until the batter has set on top, then flip, using a spatula. Cook for 2 minutes, then transfer to a plate. Repeat, stacking the cooked pancakes, until you have used all the batter.

Serve the pancakes warm with berries and sugar, or cheese and ham.

Day XI 3-23-11 Art show

So no extremely creative thing today, so drained, I was busy getting pictures for the art show ready today and I still have SO much to do!!!
I'll keep you posted and let you know when the show opens but here's a peek at one of the photos in the show.

Day X 3-22-11 Drawing

So I've been running on nothing but sugar and caffeine for the last 27  hours, I stayed up all night (not purposely) and ended up watching Pretty Little Liars (my newest accidental obsession) and that's the inspiration for the first drawing :)

Day IX 3-21-11 MEH

Felt sick today, tried to draw, nothing amazing but a tree and some bats.
Promising much better tomorrow.

20 March 2011

Day VIII 3-20-11 Boxes

This, makes me think of Brooklyn, though I have never been there.
My favorite book of all time is "A Tree Grows In  Brooklyn" By Betty Smith,
The imagery in her book makes you feel like you are there, and tonight I wasn't feeling ultra creative,
so I grabbed a pastel and just started drawing and this is what it ended up being.

Day VII 3-19-11 Feathers

I'm late.............
Internet wasn't working for like 12 hours or something.
Anyhow I put feather extensions in Joy's hair for this creative thing :)

Day VI 3-18-11 Owl Drum

A long time ago my brother was replacing the drum heads on the church drums and I asked to keep them, I spray painted one purple and forgot about it, so today I was in the middle of making homemade butter and thought "oh what am i gonna do for creative today?" when I looked over and saw the drum heads.
I attacked one with paint and it turned into a ninja mask, then a ninja guy, then a ninja panda, then an owl.
I like him a lot and wish there were a way to put wonderful drum heads like him on a set of drums, there probably is, I should ask the boyfriend drummer if they would still work as well painted as not.

17 March 2011

Day V 3-17-11 Belonging

Today we were talking about how much belonging means to us, how it is one of the top things we as humans thrive for, a sense of belonging.
I got to thinking about what if all we had to belong was a number, what if it was tattooed on as a child and it was all you had, all of your identity was in that one number?

Day IV 3-16-11 Japanese flag....

I've been feeling the sadness and hurt of Japan so much since it happened, today I watched blog posts from a girl on youtube who is living in Japan as a teacher. She wasn't harmed by the earthquake, but is coming home to the states temporarily, her channel name is Meaphe, and you can watch her here.

Watching her today made me want to be creative for Japan again, it's a way that I show love.

So day 4 is Japan inspired feet painting.
(well its a photo, my feet are painted)

15 March 2011

Day III 3-15-11 Japan

I decided to show more love to Japan today, I was really inspired because my friend painted her nails like the Japanese Flag (white with a dot red in the middle.)
I added emotion with what has happened to them, and I sorta like it.
Once again Japan is in my prayers and help for them is in my mind.

My boyfriend took my camera and took pictures of my art process (something not many have seen)
So yeah, hope you enjoy day 3.

14 March 2011

Day II 3-14-11 Japan...

Today I'm showing love for Japan, I've always had a thing for their culture, and their country.
The 9.0 earthquake on 3-11 was a tragedy, one I am not capable of really addressing.
I have a friend who is over in Japan, I have no idea if he's ok or not.
I am praying for all those in Japan, and those with loved ones there.
I am hoping there is a way that soon we will be able to help them, that churches and other groups can come together and help rebuild the cites that were destroyed, we did it with Hati and we can do it with Japan.

So for my creative thing today I honor Japan, and take a moment of silence for those lost and a prayer for those living.

In case you cant read it.
"For all those lost, Japan 3-11"

One Creative thing a day

I discover this blog called the B-Roll (clicky click) where this guy does one creative thing a day for a year,
his things are a little more techy than I'm used to, but to each their own I s'pose. So I decided to start this journey for myself, I am hoping art can help me through college, whether it help pay for it or just keep me sane.
Incidentally, I have a art show coming up at a local coffee shop and in the next 2 & 1/2 weeks I've got to really prepare for.

It was time to get my creativeness back to life, I've been in a rut because of blah with my room color and my life, but this week I painted my room, chopped off my hair and am ready to be inspired. My worship is art, and nothing is going to stop it, so worship with the gifts God gave you and glorify him in EVERYTHING.
So I'm ready, ready to create and grow and inspire myself.

DAY  I. (3-13-11)

The grey...

Inspired by the color of my walls, and new haircut, comes a murky collection of photos. :)

Rocketships

A Poem about love:

Remember when you were younger, when days seemed short and months seemed long?
Remember yesterday? Didn't think so.
Did you want to turn back time with me?
Did you want to hop in this rocket ship made of milk cartons and fly away?
To the untrained eye I might look bitter, but you, you understand, that's it's the simplicity I miss the most.

For all intents and purpose you are my best friend, don't let that be over with.
I've got this rocket ship, makeshift as it is but, would you come back with me?
Be my kindergarten boyfriend, my very best-est friend?
We'll hide under the slide, share secrets and laugh,
I'll race you to the swings, loser has to push the winner....
You'll kiss me on the steps, before the day is over, before we have to go home.
