Prayer: it's not JUST a Christian custom

So I'm on facebook and the page prayer posted this :

Native American Prayer for Peace

O Great Spirit of our Ancestors, I raise my pipe to you.
To your messengers the four winds,
and to Mother Earth who provides for your children.
Give us the wisdom to teach our children to love, to respect,
and to be kind to each other so that they may grow with peace in mind.
Let us learn to share all the good things you provide for us on this Earth.

Much discussion by many of the members of facebook followed, most of which were "Christians" hating on this because its native american well I will point out the site is called, "prayer" not "prayer to Jesus Christ"

I then posted this.

"I believe In Jesus Christ, he is my Savior but I believe also that he is in the very essence of everything he is in the earth and our loved ones that have died, and gone to heaven I know I ASK God to let my cousin in heaven know I love him, but I don't have to say "God please tell him." I can just say "Jack I love you" I know God will get him the message."

You may not believe it but I do it just seems ridiculous to assume God wouldn't know the difference of us speaking to him or another god. but below my comment someone posted this:

"There is one God and one mediator between man and God that is the Lord Jesus Christ!!!"

DUH.

But really? do we have to say,  "dear Jesus please say hi to my dead dog, and grandpa and please give my mommy a sweater for Christmas and so on and so on."
it just seems like fake, show off prayer, I want to point out that David, who has a whole book FULL of prayer and the whole time he is real, he doesn't spill out great lovely prayers that people ohh and aww at, he simply goes to God with questions, he is so open and not one bit careful because he knows God loves him, us being open with him is something he WANTS.

If you don't believe Jesus is your savior then, well you don't, I have faith that knowing how to pray is often A positive step, this is a prayer of peace, I think that someone that prays the prayer that was posted, is someone not too much apposed to finding peace in God, these are just my veiws, but I want you to think about this:

"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him" (Matthew 6:5-8).

Thanks you guys,
