Beautiful People???

Ok so I signed up for http://www.beautifulpeople.com/ which is a social networking site that only excepts you if you are up to there standards of beautiful. ( I signed up to see if I COULD get in.) How insulting is that? considering that if you scroll down and look at my previous blogs one of them speaks against this very thing, so I'm conducting an experiment to prove that there are things out there that actually make us more depressed, when you are being rated by a picture and many many people rate it and you get rejected, how does that make you feel? let me explain, I tried it with what i think is an ok picture, this one here.
Ok so after I did that it was "rated" and I was told EXACTLY this:
"Unfortunately, your application to BeautifulPeople Network was not successful. The members of BeautifulPeople did not find your profile attractive enough.

Please note, only one in five applicants are currently accepted into BeautifulPeople.com.

BeautifulPeople welcomes you to apply again, perhaps with a better photo or a more interesting profile text."

This was on the site:

What is BeautifulPeople.com?

BeautifulPeople.com is an exclusively beautiful community, founded for the purpose of creating personal and professional relationships.
BeautifulPeople has been described as an "elite online club, where every member works the door".
BeautifulPeople is the first community of its kind. To become a member, applicants are required to be voted in by existing members of the opposite sex. Members rate all new applicants over a 48 hour period based on whether or not they find the applicant ‘beautiful’. Should applicants secure enough positive votes from members, they will be granted a full membership to the BeautifulPeople Network.
The vote is fair and democratic.
BeautifulPeople does not define beauty it simply gives an accurate representation of what society's ideal of beauty is.
Applicants can upload a complimentary profile. They are able contact members while being rated thereby giving insight into the character behind the appearance.
BeautifulPeople simply removes the 'first hurdle' as every member is exactly that; 'Beautiful' as deemed so by their peers.
BeautifulPeople has become a global phenomenon. With successful launches in 16 countries, BeautifulPeople is the largest network of attractive people in the world.

(Let me explain, one it is NOT fair, two, society's view of beauty requires women to look perfect at all times, weigh NOTHING and show off too much (that's JUST WOMEN!!!), three THIS IS THE FIRST ONE!!!! it can be stopped!!)

(Also they don't mention that to be a full member you have to pay them!!!)

Back to the blog.....................

EXCUSE ME?!?! I admit that picture isn't fabulous but that is just MEAN I mean it has nothing to do with what you look like. AT ALL. Am i right?

I personally felt very hurt and convicted to write this, and also that little bit of me that's self conscious: I had to prove them wrong. So i admit i went a little crazy, and made another account, (which by the way  I just realized is stupid and deleted it.) I have my head about me now.

This is MY reasoning to eliminate stuff like this: take a girl, any age, have her put a picture up, and she gets rejected, that girls already weak self esteem will go down, she'll start trying harder, maybe she stops eating, maybe she starts just torturing her body with thousands of products, or maybe, she takes it another way, she thinks she'll never be beautiful.
Drugs, alcohol, self abuse, suicidal tendencies and clinic depression can come of this, they DO come of this.
I can't stress enough the importance for resources for these people http://www.twloha.com/index.php
and also the termination of sites like this!!!! http://www.beautifulpeople.com!!!!!!!!!!

HOPE.
PRAY.

This is for the stop of discriminatory social networking sites, and for the benefit of  TWLOHA

Love to all.

Prayer: it's not JUST a Christian custom

So I'm on facebook and the page prayer posted this :

Native American Prayer for Peace

O Great Spirit of our Ancestors, I raise my pipe to you.
To your messengers the four winds,
and to Mother Earth who provides for your children.
Give us the wisdom to teach our children to love, to respect,
and to be kind to each other so that they may grow with peace in mind.
Let us learn to share all the good things you provide for us on this Earth.

Much discussion by many of the members of facebook followed, most of which were "Christians" hating on this because its native american well I will point out the site is called, "prayer" not "prayer to Jesus Christ"

I then posted this.

"I believe In Jesus Christ, he is my Savior but I believe also that he is in the very essence of everything he is in the earth and our loved ones that have died, and gone to heaven I know I ASK God to let my cousin in heaven know I love him, but I don't have to say "God please tell him." I can just say "Jack I love you" I know God will get him the message."

You may not believe it but I do it just seems ridiculous to assume God wouldn't know the difference of us speaking to him or another god. but below my comment someone posted this:

"There is one God and one mediator between man and God that is the Lord Jesus Christ!!!"

DUH.

But really? do we have to say,  "dear Jesus please say hi to my dead dog, and grandpa and please give my mommy a sweater for Christmas and so on and so on."
it just seems like fake, show off prayer, I want to point out that David, who has a whole book FULL of prayer and the whole time he is real, he doesn't spill out great lovely prayers that people ohh and aww at, he simply goes to God with questions, he is so open and not one bit careful because he knows God loves him, us being open with him is something he WANTS.

If you don't believe Jesus is your savior then, well you don't, I have faith that knowing how to pray is often A positive step, this is a prayer of peace, I think that someone that prays the prayer that was posted, is someone not too much apposed to finding peace in God, these are just my veiws, but I want you to think about this:

"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him" (Matthew 6:5-8).

Thanks you guys,

Dr. Seuss

So I'm going to try to do a blog  everyday it probably won't happen, but I'll try.

So I discovered this picture and decided to write about Dr. Seuss. :)
This picture was never in a book (at least that's what I read, if I'm wrong, I'd like to know)
but it's a picture of a giant llama.
Here's my challenge to you, write a little story about what could be going on in this picture,
leave it in a comment, I'll write my story for it as well.

:)  (this photo was not taken by me)

Mirror Mirror.

Hi, (yes i will begin by saying hi.)
I just figured out yesterday how much we are like the evil queen in snow white, so much wanting to be the fairest of them all. many girls, (and even guys) deal with feeling unattractive.
Its natural for us to feel wanted, loved, etc. But at what price, girls will pile on 6 pounds of make up, straighten, curl, perm, push up bra, minimizer bra, make your lips bigger, make your lips smaller, put on more make up to make it look like you don't need make up. Crazy? Yes.
I see girls every day that look in the mirror and say: " I hate my face."
WHAT?!?! How can you even make those words come out of your mouth?
I've noticed often, girls that say this sometimes just want someone to say, "you're beautiful.".
On the other hand, some truly mean it.
My phone has a banner on it, it says: "hey there beautiful!"
Now I'm not conceited, I'm not flaunting myself, but I have learned to love what I have, and even the most ugly things are beautiful to you if you love them.
Confidence in your appearance allows you to be more daring, to buy that dress even though you aren't a size 00,
to walk into that job interview not thinking the whole time: "oh gosh he's staring at my nose."
it's not about being the fairest in all the land, (as our queen aspired to be) but about about being the fairest in all of yourself.
It astounds me how we can live with feeling ugly, people think I'm crazy because I like my face, well I can't go to the store and buy a new one, obviously.
Here's a word to girls and guys out there, you can't change it, yes you can lose weight, you can eat healthy and take good care of your skin and hair and those are all great things to do, but you can't change bone structure you can't change eye shape, or lip size (not without spending money you don't have) you can't, bottom line is you are going to be you forever. You won't be whatever pop star is hot right now, or whoever is popular in your school, you will be you.

I can't say I've never said I hated my my face, or that I never put on enough make up for 3 people, but for some reason i got tired of not liking myself, it was pretty sad I still had people around that didn't like me even when I was alone! I must say it's not worth it, it's easier to just feel clean and presentable and if you want, go ahead and take time to add cool make up, but do it because it makes you look BETTER, not because you think you don't look good at ALL without it.

I'm sure right now your thinking; "that sucks." well this is where loving yourself leads to self improvement,
No one wants to REALLY help someone they don't like, start liking yourself!
The ability to look at yourself in the mirror and not think "oh crap where is my make up?" just screams confidence, in yourself, and even in who God made you to be. Yes you can wear make up, just don't hide you, make YOU come out.

I'm not going to babble for 8 years but I will say this, everyday, say to yourself, "you're beautiful." weather its through a note or just saying it. (And meaning it!) One more thing, EVERYONE'S face looks a lot better in the mirror when it's smiling back at you. :) ( this photo was not taken by me)

Ciao Bella's!

My first blog

So a little history :) I am a very verbal and visual person, and I began to notice this past few months how much the world just sends subliminal messages, about things from how crazy the government is, to how popularity is everything. the point is i don't have time to sort all these mixed thoughts, emotions and images until the weekend when they hit me in Everest like amounts of epiphany. (Thus the name; weekend revelations.) (Clever huh?)
I digress; history.
My passion is poetry, but more often than not poetry leaves gaps, in-completion (think that's spelled right?) in explanation leaving the reader confused, or even, with the totally wrong idea.
So I've decided to blog, it may sometimes just end up being a vent on some crazy event, or some 4000 word thesis of my feelings on welfare.

So I'm going to get on with writing the ACTUAL blog, not this crazy babble ABOUT my blog.
Plus I'm sure your just dying to read it :) ha ha.   (this Photo was not taken by me)
