Rocketships

A Poem about love:

Remember when you were younger, when days seemed short and months seemed long?
Remember yesterday? Didn't think so.
Did you want to turn back time with me?
Did you want to hop in this rocket ship made of milk cartons and fly away?
To the untrained eye I might look bitter, but you, you understand, that's it's the simplicity I miss the most.

For all intents and purpose you are my best friend, don't let that be over with.
I've got this rocket ship, makeshift as it is but, would you come back with me?
Be my kindergarten boyfriend, my very best-est friend?
We'll hide under the slide, share secrets and laugh,
I'll race you to the swings, loser has to push the winner....
You'll kiss me on the steps, before the day is over, before we have to go home.
