Ok so I signed up for http://www.beautifulpeople.com/ which is a social networking site that only excepts you if you are up to there standards of beautiful. ( I signed up to see if I COULD get in.) How insulting is that? considering that if you scroll down and look at my previous blogs one of them speaks against this very thing, so I'm conducting an experiment to prove that there are things out there that actually make us more depressed, when you are being rated by a picture and many many people rate it and you get rejected, how does that make you feel? let me explain, I tried it with what i think is an ok picture, this one here.
Ok so after I did that it was "rated" and I was told EXACTLY this:
"Unfortunately, your application to BeautifulPeople Network was not successful. The members of BeautifulPeople did not find your profile attractive enough.
Please note, only one in five applicants are currently accepted into BeautifulPeople.com.
BeautifulPeople welcomes you to apply again, perhaps with a better photo or a more interesting profile text."

This was on the site:
What is BeautifulPeople.com?
BeautifulPeople.com is an exclusively beautiful community, founded for the purpose of creating personal and professional relationships.BeautifulPeople has been described as an "elite online club, where every member works the door".
BeautifulPeople is the first community of its kind. To become a member, applicants are required to be voted in by existing members of the opposite sex. Members rate all new applicants over a 48 hour period based on whether or not they find the applicant ‘beautiful’. Should applicants secure enough positive votes from members, they will be granted a full membership to the BeautifulPeople Network.
The vote is fair and democratic.
BeautifulPeople does not define beauty it simply gives an accurate representation of what society's ideal of beauty is.
Applicants can upload a complimentary profile. They are able contact members while being rated thereby giving insight into the character behind the appearance.
BeautifulPeople simply removes the 'first hurdle' as every member is exactly that; 'Beautiful' as deemed so by their peers.
BeautifulPeople has become a global phenomenon. With successful launches in 16 countries, BeautifulPeople is the largest network of attractive people in the world.
(Let me explain, one it is NOT fair, two, society's view of beauty requires women to look perfect at all times, weigh NOTHING and show off too much (that's JUST WOMEN!!!), three THIS IS THE FIRST ONE!!!! it can be stopped!!)
(Also they don't mention that to be a full member you have to pay them!!!)
Back to the blog.....................
EXCUSE ME?!?! I admit that picture isn't fabulous but that is just MEAN I mean it has nothing to do with what you look like. AT ALL. Am i right?
I personally felt very hurt and convicted to write this, and also that little bit of me that's self conscious: I had to prove them wrong. So i admit i went a little crazy, and made another account, (which by the way I just realized is stupid and deleted it.) I have my head about me now.
This is MY reasoning to eliminate stuff like this: take a girl, any age, have her put a picture up, and she gets rejected, that girls already weak self esteem will go down, she'll start trying harder, maybe she stops eating, maybe she starts just torturing her body with thousands of products, or maybe, she takes it another way, she thinks she'll never be beautiful.
Drugs, alcohol, self abuse, suicidal tendencies and clinic depression can come of this, they DO come of this.
I can't stress enough the importance for resources for these people http://www.twloha.com/index.php
and also the termination of sites like this!!!! http://www.beautifulpeople.com!!!!!!!!!!
HOPE.
PRAY.
This is for the stop of discriminatory social networking sites, and for the benefit of TWLOHA
Love to all.
